Colorado Wedding Venues: The Lodge at Breckenridge
Welcome to our second installment of our “Colorado Wedding Venues” blog series. Today, we are taking a deep dive into a location that we not only frequent often but that is right in our backyard; The Lodge at Breckenridge.

Who and where “is” the Lodge at Breckenridge?
This cozy but luxurious 45-room resort sits atop a hillside in the Arapaho National Forest in Breckenridge Colorado. At an elevation of 10,000’+ this popular, local wedding venue is best known for its “million-dollar views” of Boreas Pass, the Breckenridge Ski Resort and the Tenmile Range all while being positioned just 5 miles outside of downtown! This community staple also boasts two additional cabins available for rent on the property for smaller wedding groups looking for an even more intimate, laid back feel.

What makes the Lodge at Breckenridge a great Colorado wedding venue?
Able to accommodate weddings of up to 175, couples receive package deal access to three of the lodge’s spaces with their booking: the Mountain View Ballroom, the foyer, and the Sky View Deck (!!!) What’s even better is that all of these spaces have direct access to each other, so despite being at a resort, it feels like you and your guests are in your own private space.
The Foyer
The foyer is, well, a foyer just outside of the Sky View Deck and Mountain View Ballroom. Aside from being the guest entrance, it provides extra space that guests can dress up with additional displays like a photo table, guest book set-up, photo booth backdrop, or a cozy lounge area, for example. In this space, we recommend our easels for holding custom signage, our sweetheart farm tables for any displays, our champagne walls for a “bubbly” guest welcome, or some lounge furniture for a guest rest area in between songs.

Mountain View Ballroom
Recently renovated, the ballroom boasts a wall of large windows that frame the breathtaking mountain views off of the ceremony Sky View Deck. Guests can check tables, chairs, basic tableware accouterments, and a dance floor off of their todo list as this room comes pre-equipped with all!

Clients are recommended to us to supplement with the overall decor of the space. Most often we receive requests to add pipe and drape the windowless back wall. Whether in search of sheer fabric, fabric with lighting, or string light curtains, we have a variety of products to create a picture-perfect dance floor or sweetheart table backdrop. The Lodge also has hardware installed in the ballroom ceiling which allows for us to light up the dance floor with our string lighting package. Pro tip: Avoid hanging fixtures like chandeliers or floral installations. The ballroom ceiling isn’t super tall, so hanging fixtures may eliminate headspace on the dance floor especially for the taller folks on your guest list.

Aside from these large decor set-ups, we can also assist with the finer details. We have an extensive catalog of specialty linens that can transform your tablescape. We also offer chair covers, specialty chargers, or tableware upgrades like gold flatware.

Sky View Deck
Arguably the best view in Breckenridge, the Sky View Deck is an expansive wooden deck that boasts those jaw-dropping panoramic views (that we’ve been telling you about) year-round! Ask any of the staff members and they will agree that this space sells itself …. And at an affordable price (!!)
Most often used for the ceremony space, the seating and even multiple arbor choices (if interested) come with the location. So, where do we come in? The answer is lighting! One of the most common requests that we receive for this venue in general is lighting for the deck. This is another package that we’ve got down pat, so when you give us a ring “deck lighting at the Lodge” is all you need to say! Our lighting package covers the longer, more narrow straightaway portion of the deck which often doubles as an outdoor cocktail space depending on the time of year! We can tent this portion of the deck, too!

Alpine and Summit Houses (not included in The Lodge at Breckenridge wedding package)
Operating much more along the lines as private rental homes, these spaces can also be reserved through the Lodge. These houses, that sleep 8-10 guests, are more meant to serve the purpose of lodging. However, should you have any questions in regards to small, elopement style wedding events, give the Sales team a call. Clients must get approval from the venue for any event related requests at the houses.
